Columbia-House VHS-Videos (US-NTSC)
There seem to be 2 versions of Columbia-House videos. On one hand, some episodes were sold in US supermarkets (right picture). The episodes on these tapes were sometimes cut and had sometimes different titels. E.g. the episode "Memory" was titled "Butcher of Balkins" (sic).
On the other hand, there are about 20 tapes available to Columbia-House subscribers (left picture). The titles of these episodes are correct. The following episodes are available:

The covers look all the same, except for the episode-title.
The tapes are sometimes sold at Ebay.
CIC/Paramount VHS-Videos (PAL)
These tapes run on British or other European PAL-video recorders, but not
on US-maschines (NTSC!). They are still available for purchase (e.g. German
site: Avides or British
site: Blackstar [Dave
Brown figured out this one] or AmazonUK) and cost about 16 EUR or 8 Pound.
Except for small pictures in the corners and the episode-title, all covers
look alike.

16 mm Films
Inside the USA different episodes on 16 mm film-reels were sold around 1972 by Eastman. The wrapping was a brown card-box - not a blue plastic case as shown here.
DVDs and PAL-tapes of the movies are available in Europe too (E.g. check AmazonUK, Blackstar etc.).
The Laserdiscs are out of print, but can bought very cheap (sometimes only 3 $) at Ebay.
The first season of the original TV-Show will be available on DVD in the US in September 2006. More details here.

Paramount released the content of their first six
video-tapes (see above) on Laserdisc to (US-NTSC).
Laserdiscs do not work in DVD-Players.
There are japanese video-tapes as well. Here is a
poster ad. Sorry, but my japanese is not good enogh to understand where
you can buy them ;-)
The first 4 seasons were released on Laserdisc in Japan. Laserdiscs do not work in DVD-Players. NTSC-format!
Each season is split into two volumes. Each volume is a box containig 7 Laserdiscs feat. 13 or 14 episodes.
PAL VHS-Tape of the episode "The Golden Serpent"
was sold in the UK till
1992 (Paramount Home Entertainment UK, VHB2401).
This Epiosode is sold on DVD in Ebay-auctions
in Australia but these are self-made DVD-R copies of the VHS Tape.
The Epiosode "The Golden Serpent"
was also sold as a PAL VHS-Tape in Germany in 1991.

The first through sixth season of the original TV-Show are available on DVD in the USA, UK (7 DVD-Box) and other non-english countries such as France and Germany (each Season split in two boxes, one with 4 and one with 3 DVDs). Season seven will be published in March 2010.
